The project for Bayer’s new headquarters in Mexico was selected after winning a design competition. It respects and joins the two main bodies, one of which being the company’s historic 1944 building.
Our design integrates the use of elements and materials that are recognizable from the original construction; at the same time, it updates the image of the building complex.
Stainless steel brise-soleils and double-glazing regulates solar gain and ensures energy efficiency. The six basement levels—structurally sized to maximize the efficiency of materials used on the upper levels—show at the level of the sidewalk an entrance floor that provides a transitional space between the building’s program, whose rounded corner contains the most important spaces on each office floor.
